Sens. Kyrsten Sinema and Thom Tillis announced bipartisan legislation Thursday that would allow border agents to turn away migrants who cross the border without a hearing, one week before similar pandemic-era border controls are set to end. The proposed bill, which is also backed by Sens. Joe Manchin III, D-W.Va., and John Cornyn, R-Texas, represents an effort by lawmakers to effectively continue the so-called Title 42 border policy, which is scheduled to end on May 11 with the expiration of the COVID-19 public health emergency order.

While employers took solace from the November 22 nationwide preliminary injunction which blocked implementation of a controversial rule increasing the salary threshold for employees to be exempt from overtime, the battle is not over. The Department of Labor filed its notice of appeal December 1, the same day the new salary regulations were to take effect. TAYLORSVILLE, Utah – A giant chicken bucket fell off a KFC signpost and into traffic during the evening commute Wednesday.  An officer who was responding to a different call diverted to the KFC at 4700 South Redwood Road in Taylorsville where the bucket blocked eastbound traffic.  A Police spokesman said officers diverted traffic around the “bucket shrapnel”.  The mess was quickly cleaned up.  Police said they did not know what caused the sign to fall.
